Cowl tag decode

Hello everyone. This is my first post of probably many. I am just starting a restoration project on a 70 cutlass supreme convertible. The amount of knowledge and information on this site is staggering. But I have been unable to completely decode the cowl tag. This car has had many things done to it in the past, including someone trying to make a 442 clone. Some things I have figured out (1970 cutlass supreme convertible, burnished gold original color) but can't find info on the rest of the tag. Any help will be appreciated.

I can start it off.

ST 70 = style/model year = 1970

34267: 3 = GM division = Oldsmobile; 42 = model series = Cutlass Supreme; 67 = body type = convertible

BF = assembly plant = Fremont CA

00059 BDY = Fisher body number (has no relationship to the VIN of your car)

TR 977 = interior color and front seat type = ivory with bucket seats

58 H PNT = lower body color (58) = burnished gold; upper body color or, in your case, the convertible top color (H) = gold

09C = time build code = September (09), third week of that month (C), 1969

The rest of the numbers are something unique to the Fremont CA assembly plant and I don't believe anyone has cracked the code on them as of yet. Yours is a fairly early production '70 model car.

Someone smarter than me came up with this decoder here on this site. Pretty sweet.

Randy, thanks for the info, and the bottom numbers are what I have been struggling to decode.
Thanks Cincinnati Rick, I've come across that link before, but it doesn't decode the bottom numbers on my tag, and the trim code 977 isn't an option in the pull down menu.

Hey browndogs just want to welcome you to the site. Hope you find what your looking for. I'll agree those Fremont tags are elusive on some of the codes.
Show some more pics of the car, and keep us updated. Convertibles make nice rides.

Welcome to the site. You are correct that there is a staggering amount of information here and a number of our members stagger around. Wait, you didn't say that. Anyway, post more pics of that car. We're fickle that way.
