1970 442 instrument cluister socket size

Good morning. I am replacing t10 socket on instrument cluster and lower panel lights as some are missing. It seems that just about everything that is available foe replacement sockets are for 1/2 in or 13 mm hole. The holes on my car are more like 16mm dia. Is there some reason for different hole sizes? I have found what is being called a large t10 socket but they are not supposed to fit my car, I would appreciate any input on this

You are waaaay overthinking this. That's called "clearance" The sockets are all the same and fit into the holes in the cluster. These were not intended to be a precision fit.

Overthimking or not the 1/2 in 13mm sockets spin in the hole and do not lock in place Below is the difference I am referring to
ike the larger ones I took out of the cluster

The plot thickens. In my instrument cluster I have 2 different size socket holes. left pod are all 1/2 in holes (temp, oil pressure, fuel and 2 warning light's, center (Speedometer has 2 5/8 in holes and right (tach and clock has 2 5/8 in holes. I guess it is never safe to assume.. Has anyone run into this?
