Wow, thanks for the pics Luis. It's definitely a Ninety Eight Regency and that interior looks to be in great shape! You are very lucky that your steering wheel looks to be good because they are not easy to come by in good condition. I've been looking for a really nice black wheel like that for a long time. If you decide to replace it with anything else, please let me know. Keep the pics coming and let us know how we can help...do you need parts?

Hey Luis,
You'll actually need to replace the entire dash cluster to fix that. Unfortunately many people cut out the radio area to install a modern radio and this destroys the dash. The section you need goes from the far left where the headlight and wiper controls are to the damaged area. The faceplate that you would then need would also have two switchplates at the bottom...one for the rear defroster and one for the power antenna (I believe your car has both options). Most likely if you find the dash cluster in good condition, you'll find that faceplate as well.
As for the pieces that cover the taillights...these are very hard to come by (assuming you mean the quarter panel extensions/filler panels that are painted to match the car). These are usually dried and cracked as the cars get older and they start to fall apart. I wish I could help you with these but I am always on the lookout for pairs for my own cars.

sorry for the delayed response.
The vinyl top can be replaced by just about any upholstery shop or you can buy the top and install it yourself if you know how. As for the filler panels, the rear ones are really hard to come by in good, used condition as they are usually cracked and falling apart. The front ones aren't as bad but still not that easy to come by. The reproductions of the rear ones are made of fiberglass and they are TERRIBLE. I've known a few people to try them on their '76 Ninety Eight's and they've all returned them because they fit so poorly. I've seen reproductsion of the front ones listed on ebay but haven't known anybody to try them yet. Maybe you can make them work for you but don't expect either to be just like the originals.
How is the car coming along? I'd love to see some new progress pictures!

Haven't seen the repro filler panels, but having worked on my boats for years, fiberglass is very easy to work with and/or modify. Might be easier than finding good used, and even if you find some, the type of plastic they are made of will fall apart later, if not sooner, and you'll still have the same problem. Fiberglass will last, even Olds front end header panels were made of it in the 70s. I found out when I hit a deer with one in my '77 88.

John, his last activity on this site was October 30, 2010. Usually when peeps are away for that amount of time they've drifted away from ownership? It was a nice looking project. Are you still looking for that elusive Black Wheel? Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the 76 and 75 steering wheels the same? I think the CC's also had the same wheel.

Hey Allen, you're probably right. I. Just hope the car survived even if his interest may not have. Yes, good memory about my quest for a primo black wheel. I know they're out there. ..I just need to bring one in here and yes, the CC wheel and 88 would be the same. There is a perfect one on a 75 88 convertible near me that I'm hoping to someday make a trade for but the chances of that happening are probably not the best.
