1970 442 455 Code 58 burnished Gold
Hey all, I bought this 70 from Scarsdale NY in Febuary
I wanted to make a personal build/project progress thread for the car.
67 Documented miles from previous Owners title
Have 2 broadcast sheets
The interior & rear seat is orig so i may find build sheet have to check.
The Orig bumpers were rechromed at Paul's in PA they Look amazing!
Gardener Exhaust sounds good too.

So far i did stabilizer links
a few easy fixes
New 15x7 SS1's with Silvertons
check breaks and New wheels
The front fenders are not perfect
a second body guy had to finish the car when it was painted becuase the first guy bailed and he forgot to do the bodywork.
looks like he just sanded it and painted it. He did a great job on the paint tho Just has dirt & waves. Shiney as hell.
I will have it fixed one day.
I bought some front & rear ledgendary seat covers For it and a trunk mat amd trunk light with trunk decal

Nice car.
I did my seats in 2000 or so. If you plan on replacing the seat springs and or seat bottom foam, set the seat bottom in the car once you get the new spring/foam installed, and sit in the seat to check your head clearance to the head liner. I replaced the springs and foam in mine and put it ALL back together only to find out that my head literally hit (not just grazed) the headliner. I had to take the seat back apart and cut about 1 1/4" out of the thickness of the seat bottom cushion/foam. I actually cut the full 1 1/4' out of the center 2/3rds and only a little(1/2"?) out of the thickness at the sides in order to give the bucket seat a little more "bucket". By the way, an electric carving knife works well to cut slices of foam. Just be sure to do it while the wife is out shopping.
Also, if you are doing it yourself, pull out the old video camera and video tape yourself taking the seats apart and removing the seat covers. Even narrate as you go. There are tons of little details regarding, "does this flap go over that piece or under it? Or where to put/use each hog ring. I video taped mine and it was a HUGE help.
Have fun.
