Boot Cover Channel Installation

Need to install the boot cover channel strip on a 72 cutlass convertible but not positive where it goes. Any pics/tips/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

there should be screw holes already there. You need to take the bottom of the back seat out first. Then there are two lag bolts holding the back of the rear seat on. Take that off and you should see the holes for the part. It is right at the height of the top of the back seat. the rail is visible with the seat in place but the screws are not.

Thanks for the help, I'll give it a try this weekend. One other convertible question, should there be a top/windshield alignment pin on driver and pass side of windshield of just driver side? I seem to remember there were two on other cars I have seen but mine only has driver side. Someone could easily remove the pin but there is no hole in the windshield bracket either which I find odd.

Thanks

The alignment pin is only on the driver's side.

Nope just one. That has made me scratch my head for years.

I always wondered if that was for ease of use. If only the driver in the car it makes it easier to align the driver's side and then just lean over to latch the passenger side. Or was it to save $0.13 in the day on a few thousand convertibles by eliminating the extra pin.
