F85: not carpet, but rubber?
RE: Rallye 350
Hello,
My Rallye 350 is the F85 post body. Furthermore, the car doesn't have a/c, and the dash doesn't even have the front and center vents; just the defroster and floor heater vents. However, it has carpet which I believe was a recent (incorrect?) replacement. Based on the options, I'm inclined to believe that this car may have come from the factory with a rubber floor mat instead. However, it does have P/S and P/B. How would I determine the correct floor covering if, according to some others, Rallyes didn't leave Lansing with build sheets? Can you decipher that info from the data plate when referencing the trim code?

I have never seen the carpet option on the data plate just the standard interior code which tells you what color and bench vs buckets (973 vs 977 or something like that) There could be a broadcast card under your back seat or behind the back of your front seat.

Like Steve said, no way to determine floor covering on data tag.Rubber floor covering was only available on the basic stripper f-85's which your Rallye may be.If you are interested in putting a rubber floor in your car I have one out of a 1970 model.
