72 convertible rear piston cover and arm rest.

Can any one tell me if the piston cover has foam backing under the vinyl cover. I know the arm rest does. I have new sheet metal pieces and never had original pieces to compare. Thanks

They did not have foam at all, they had like a felt material that was glued to the metal. Foam looks and fits goofy. Kit's are available for the upper and lower panels. The lower panel uses two different weights, with the armrest area being a thicker felt. You either order a padding kit for the top panels, or go to a fabric or craft store and buy felt maybe 1/16" or 1/8", glue it to only the outside, you don't wrap it over the edges.

Thanks, i am ordering the vinyl kit from opgi. I wasn't sure if the "padding" was attached or if you had to do it on your own.
