1969 442 A/T Center Console

Ok my 1969 Buddies as you can see the console door is aluminum, I'm guessing it had a black adhesive material on it probably grained like the rest of the console.

Is this stuff available anywhere? or should I just paint it?

I would try a shop that does auto interiors, they may have a suitable material that they could sell you. Take a look at any crafts/hobby stores in your area that may also have the material. Furniture upholstery shops may also. I don't believe that there is a replacement on the market for it through the normal resto places.

My '69 console door has a slight crack in it and the source you listed on eBay is the only replacement I could find either. Looks nice on the computer, and the price isn't bad. If you go this route, I am curious as to the quality of the repro so please let us know how it turns out.

Just a heads up, that piece is used, not new, not reproduction! Chicago Muscle sells a lot of used, and I mean used parts on E bay. Caveat
Emptor!

OK, here it is installed on my console.
It works and fits great, the only thing was the customer service at that company wasn't the greatest but they were the only one with a repro console door.

Greetings all...I realize that this is a very old post, but I found it most helpful! My 1969 Console Lid had a large chip missing so I decided to replace it if possible. This thread lead me to Chicago Muscle Parts:

https://www.chicagomusclecarparts.co...42fde237&_ss=r

I ordered the lid which arrived in 2 days. It looks GREAT and is as close a match as I could imagine. They were VERY helpful as well!

If you need one...I highly recommend.
