Hey Guys
Was the dipstick & tube painted red like the engine coming off assembly line in 1969?

no natural metal color is what I saw cleaned mine and painted high temp clear

69' H/O dipstick & tube

Thanks, let me get this clear was it bare metal like that gunmetal grey look? Or was it a light grey like Galvanized?

like a light galvanized there was some rust but not quite like bare steel. probably a light zinc coat and thats about it..
