Edelbrock 1406 problem?

Got another issue: '67 Olds Cutlass Supreme, 330C.I. H.O., 4bbl. Edelbrock 1406 carb., 2 speed Jetaway w/variable vane torque conveter. Problem is the engine bogs down under mild-to-heavy acceleration, whether in Low or Drive. It bogs down very badly when the engine is just warmed up, but improves slightly when at operating temp. However, the car flies when I go to wide-open throttle and the downshift occurs. I use 93 octane gas and add Lucas 104 and some lead substitute. The same condition was present when I had the stock distributor and wires as now with an HEI distributor and 8mm wires. Air and fuel filters are new and clean. Does this sound like the accelerator pump is N.G. ? Any ideas would be helpful! Thanks, Jim

You might try readjusting your accelerator pump. Perhaps it isn't set right.
