smallblock build

I am thinking of building a new smallblock for my 70 vista and have heard about using a diesel 350 along with a 330 crank to make a nice smallblock 400. anyone know specifics on this build? It's been about 15-20 years since I built any motors and they were all big blocks so this is a new one for me.

i dont think the 330 crank would work on a diesel block the crank journals are way bigger on the diesel block and would probaby cost alot to make it work . I think most guys are doing the 425 crank in the 350 diesel . I think the best bank for the buck is the chevy piston rod combo in the 350 gas motor.

If I go with the 425 crank in the diesel what do the cubic inches bear verses the chevy rod and piston getup?

not too sure . I have never ran a combination like this . The cubes gained with the 425 crank i know is much more compared to the chevy rod piston combo. I know 380racer on here would know more he runs a big cube small block olds.
