Question: Gas Pedal

Is the gas pedal on a 1966 Cutlass held in with two ball studs on the floor? My pedal was switched out for a cable operated one and I'm going back to the original. Just trying to figure out what I need. I have the throttle assembly that bolts to the firewall but nothing inside so I need to know where I stand to go forward with the correct pedal. My 65 Riviera has a pedal with two studs so I'm familiar with the arrangement. How are those studs attached to the floor pan?

Thanks,
George

They are screwed into threaded holes in the floor. There are at least two different size ball studs floating around so be sure you have the size that fits your pedal.

Thanks Bigoldscruiser. I'll pull the carpet back and see what the hack before me did. I like the smoothness of the mechanical linkage so much better and want this to work nicely.
