preping heads for brazing divider?

preping heads for brazing divider?

I find many different methods,so,which one?Can i just grind the area and braze?How do i assure it sticks?Put my worry to rest,please.Thanks for any advise,BO

You may want to consider milling down exhaust side of head so dividers are flush. No brazing required and headers fit better too, at least they did on my 67 442 conv. Not much has to come off with BB, A thru G heads, would not try this with J heads though.

0.170 to .180" off the exhaust side works on most heads. Another benefit is raising the port slightly and bringing up the floor.

I appreciate the responses.I've read that milling the exhaust can cause header fitment problems.These are C heads,I'm trying to do all the work myself to save some cost.I'm porting ,as well as filling the crossovers.I do some more research before i decide,thanks again,BO
