Door Panel Repair chrome strips

I have some nice door panels on 70 442 coupe but the mylar?is bad anyone have suggestions how to fix this without replacing panels rest of the panels look great,have seen some stuff at hobby shops but seem too thick,thanks

Are you talking about the burled walnut faux wood on the doors? A picture would be helpful to see what you're asking about.

its the plastic chrome that surrounds the woodgrain and has a dual strip on the panel too

I thought I saw someone use the silver foil tape (A/C Ducts) before.

You sure that's mylar? I just went and looked at the door panels on my 72 Cutlass. The trim around the wood grain is definitely metal on my car. Could your panels have already been replaced by a PO?
