Cutlass wagon fuel tank ???
#2
Fuel tanks did not change in those years. There was a change to the gauge units, however.
The standard gauge unit in 1970 had a supply and return connection with a vented cap. 1970 wagons with the NA9 option had a different gauge unit with supply, return, and vent; these had a sealed cap. NA9 is the Evaporation Control System that was mandatory for wagons delivered in California.
In 1971 and 1972, all the gauge units were the NA9 type.
This is from memory on air conditioned cars. Non-AC cars may have had different gauge units without the return line, but they still differed starting in 1970 because of adding the Evap System vapor line.
I'm sure others will chime in if any of these details is incorrect.
