350 or 455?
Hey Guys, Right now I have a Olds 350 in a ratrod with the 400 automatic and 10 bolt rear. Are the mounts on a 350 and 455 in the same place? I'm sure the 400 tranny would bolt right up I hope.
I don't know enough about these Olds motors so assuming the 455 is a lot bigger then the 350.

size difference
Others are more knowledgeable than myself, but IIRC, the "side to side" dimensions of the block are the same for the SBO and BBO. The main difference is that the deck height is higher on the BBO. If there is enough room between the frame rails for the 350, there is enough room for the 455. I think the Engine and Frame mounts are the same as well.
Sounds like a fun project! I've got a '68 455 on a stand waiting for sufficient funds to accumulate before starting. In the meantime, I'm working on refreshing the mechanics of my '68 442.

Everything will bolt up, including your pulleys, brackets etc. Use 350 engine mounts so you don't have to replace the frame mounts. The headers will not interchange due to the deck height, valve covers yes.

Note that some belts have to be changed between 350 and 455, because of the deck height difference (anything mounted on the head will be farther away from the crank), and some brackets have a couple of different holes for mounting on the 455 for this reason.
All of the brackets should interchange, though.
