1970 Cutlass convertible radio question
I found an AM/FM stereo radio for my 1970 Cutlass convertible. I am unfamiliar with the speaker hookup on the convertible model. There is a center grille on top of the dash pad for one speaker. Are there supposed to be another speaker for stereo sound?

There is one on the rear right, behind the seat, firing into the top boot.
You simply drive with your head turned 90*, looking out the side window to get the stereo effect. That is if you can actually hear the back speaker...

If you have a decent amp and some good 6x9s you can put them in the factory locations and get okay sound.
I would install some bass-blocking caps on them and high-pass anything over 100Hz. Even after sealing that triangular framework, deep bass is non-existant. No need to overwork the amp for nothing.
Here is where they go:
With the factory radio and speaker, it would be hard to hear. There is a comparison of the old vs new...
Not sure why the factory only installed a right rear speaker when there were two holes...
Lady had two, not sure why. Dealer upgrade requested by owner? who knows...
