Are there any resoursces for finding the paint codes for the dash and interior trim on a 1956 2 Door?

You probably already know about the list of instrument panel colors shown on page 1-4 of the 1956 Olds Shop Manual. The service numbers given are for Rinshed-Mason and DuPont. I have no other resources.

I found the codes/colors in the manual, but what has me confused is the gold interior color on the bottom half of the dash....can't even find a name for that color.

I don't know. I don't have any of the old paint charts. The '57 Olds Shop Manual shows a Gold Mist under the Paint Service Number chart with a DuPont number of 2439-L and "Not Supplied" for Rinshed-Mason. Perhaps somebody decided to "try it out" a bit early on the '56 dash. It's a long shot, but that's all I have.

It would be nice to have an old retiree from Fisher Body that worked there in the 1950s with a great memory.

Despite appearing to be gold, it is called "beige" in the dealer book for 1956, and used with any of the 3*4 or 360 trim codes. From the shop manual, that would be DuPont 59394 or Rinshed-Mason L39N006.
