You never know...

Just bought a 72 Supreme. Did some detective work and it is a number matching car. I know it is not a big deal to some, but it is the first car I have bought that turned out this way and I did not even know it...lol.

Does it add any value to a generic Cutlass Supreme to keep it an original numbers matching car, or do I pop the 455 in it?.it is a 350 4bbl in it now...I know this has been asked a thousands times, and talked death about, but it seems to be less important today......

Adding a non-number-matching 455 is likely to increase the value over a numbers-matching 350.

That being said, the nice thing to do is to keep the old motor, or at least the block, in the corner of the garage so that you can sell it with the car if the ability to be numbers-matching is important to next buyer.

...I have this to put in. ...E heads big valves etc.

I will start the 350, and if I pull it, I can at least say it ran when pulled. I built this 455 for this car..455 over the 350...I am sure someone has done a poll...lol

Its a blank slate, make it what you want. I'm sure that no future owner will want the old engine for a Cutlass, I'd sell it.

Build it to enjoy and not worry about resale. As mentioned, it is probably worth more with the 455. If it were a W30 the numbers matching would mean a lot more. Somebody will want your 350 if you can get it off the ceiling.

Do it the way you want it, life is to short not to enjoy these cars. It will be illegal to drive these soon anyway.

It's actually Microsoft code that's screwy.

Apple includes a data point within the image file that tells it which side was up according to the device's accelerometer, and so Apple's software always displays up as up, no matter what position the device was in when it was taken.

Microsoft has no provision for interpreting this piece of information, so defaults to older data in the file's metadata to decide.

Numbers matching does help, it helped mine but I agree as others have said, put the 455 in and keep the 350. Take a video of it running if it does to help prove it was a good running motor before you pull it out. Besides if you ran the numbers matching motor and it went south you loose the numbers matching forever. 455 😎
