Same, though so far nothing hasn't gone wrong.

1: JGC house was so rusted that I had to use a hammer to get the pitman arm off. That shattered the aluminum cover. I could salvage a cover from my spare '72 steering box, though.
2: Predictably, none of the hoses fit. I made an adapter for the inlet and used the JGC outlet, mating it to the '72 hose.
3: The rag joint/coupling I bought specifically for the conversion, by recommendation of this website, didn't fit the steering column end. Of course, the '72 rag joint didn't fit the JGC steering box, so I had to weld the coupling I'd bought onto the '72 rag joint.
4: The spare hose I used, which I'd never tested, turned out to be leaky. I'm now 80 miles from my workshop with a badly leaking power steering hose.

All in all; good fun.

Painted the driver side trunk pocket for the last time,
finally started cutting the new floor pans
added a small but bright LED light to my hood near the latch

BTW, I'm sealing with "Brantho Korrux 3in1", if anyone's interested:

Fixed the leek at the trans selector shaft, cleaned and painted the rear springs.

Finally got my floor pans welded - hooray!

No pics though, seam penetrating anti rust oil everywhere, chassis sealing polyurethane everywhere, mobile and camera stay put!

Next: Right quarter bottom. I'll have to weld that myslf, I'm afraid.

Lunch break - Another quick coat of paint.

Good use of every second. Only took me 2 hours to find my new floor pan plugs yesterday - they were still in their air mail envelope taped to the garage wall

Driver side after work in a few hours

Jeep Grand Cherokee, 93-98 Steering Boxes bolt right up to the A-Bodies with a much improved 12.7:1 Steering Ratio and a firmer feel to the wheel. Turning Radius is not affected at all.

I've been polishing chrome and detailing little sections of the car removing emblems and polishing them, getting ready to clay bar the paint and wax.

It's down at the tire shop today getting some BFG Radial T/A's on it to replace the Tiger Paw GT's that have been on for the last 21+ years!!

Think spring, think spring . . .

Looks nice, I like the color combination. Where did you get the carpet from?

Thank you, I was trying to tone down the gold. Gold ext. with gold int. is too much for me.
Eventually when I get to painting I will add the ram air hood with black stripes on it.

I got the carpet from stockinteriors. It is plush cut pile with mass backing. I also got matching carpet pieces for door panels. Those I will have the pro's replace, I don't wanna mess it up.

Did you use the ac Delco one? The steering box in my 71 feels so loose, almost too easy to turn. Does this steering box tighten it up?

It tightens things up a lot. There are some minor details you need to be prepared for ahead of time, to make the transition smooth.

I just converted my 65 cutlass from manual steering to power steering. I bought a Lares reman p.s.gear box with a new rag joint delivered for $128.00 which includes a $35.00 core. I also had to get a new pitman arm from Summit $60.00 All factory hoses fit and a direct bolt on. 3 hours or so later ,it is back on the road.

After two years of sitting with a bad transmission, a buddy and myself put the rebuilt one in and replaced all new brake pads and rotors. Have never seen a brake cylinder rusted beyond help!! Next is a new alternator! Needs a new heater core, but that will have to wait a bit!!

Lift the carpet completely as soon as you can, if you don't have that done already!

New wheels fits quite nice!
Front needs to be dropped 1" down, and rear wheels
should be 275 instead of 255.

It's been raining here for a welcome change so I replaced the old wiper blades on the 55( not that I venture out in a storm on purpose) then finished cleaning up the floor carpet under the dash where the heater control valve took a dump....Tedd

Worked a little on my damping mat puzzle

And no, it's Aluminium Butyl and it's not flexible - it has to be cut in squares/triangles and fit in.

The JGC Box tightened up my car pretty dramatically. Bigger Sway bars Front/Rear helped and brand new Steering Linkage / Tie Rods helped as well. I used the Lares 1353 Box, 200 Coupler, Lee Steering Fittings and Brand New Stock Hoses. Installed 1" Lowering Springs and New KYB GR-2 shocks all the way around. I have been stockpiling parts for the past two years and finally got off my tail and installed this stuff. Next up is swapping the column for an O.E. Tilt that i bought off this forum and replacing the 20 year old Goodriches + alignment. I will be ready for spring very, very soon. Who am I kidding this winter has been like the past few summers...

Continued to tackle my practice welding project, the old trailer. Old Metal, thick metal, new metal, thin metal, fitting. Practice, practice, practice, before I work on the Cutlass. In the end trailer will have removable fenders to haul the Cutlass to the paint shop, and I will have a little more confidence in my welding skills.

Jumped in, cranked up the new stereo and took it for a ride. Windows down and perfect weather, had many people waving and smiling. Everyone loves a good looking car. This is why I bought it in the first place.
