Starfire Info?
Is there anywhere I can find out how many 62 hardtops are left? I often see them for sale on EBAY but it always seems to be the same ones. Anyway id like to find out how many came with the options that I have. just for personal pleasure. white over Sunset mist (pink) pw pvw wonder bar with foot control and pwr trunk release

If you need to waste money, there is a company advertized in Hemmings that will find out how many are left. These are inaccurate numbers, because these are only REGISTERED cars. I dont think it goes into the options list. That power vent window option you have is pretty rare - in fact I have a spare '62 complete console with the cutouts for the power vent switches. And the color you have is odd to - It seems every '62 Starfire is either burgundy or black

By all means return it to Sunset Mist.
59, I thought I was the only one who noticed that. Starfires just BEG to be painted an outrageous color. 62s look their best in light metallic colors like Sunset, Pacific, Sahara, Wedgewood and Heather Mists. They look real nice in Cirrus Blue and Cameo Cream too.
But judging by what's out there now you'd think the only colors available were Chariot Red, Garnet Mist or Ebony Black with a Provincial White roof.
When I bought my Fern Mist 64, a lot of locals (read Chevy guys ) said "I sure hope you're gonna change the color on that car".
My reply was why the hell would I want to do that? followed by "if it ain't your car why are you even worried about it?"
