Reconditioning Inner Wheel Wells

I pulled my black inner wheel wells and cleaned them thoroughly but they still have a faded appearance. Anyone know what I can use to restore to stock appearance? I guess a temporary solution would be Armor All or similar but I was wondering if there is a paint or stain that will restore the original color. Appreciate the advice.

Noooo, DON'T armor all them.

Once they're clean (really clean) I've found a product that works extremely well to restore black plastic - it's called Dupli Color Vinyl and Fabric Dye. I've also used Duplicolor Trim Paint (semi gloss) on other plastic parts like transmission inspection cover with really good results.

You'll need to really degrease and clean the engine side parts super clean. There's a lot of oils on the plastic you won't see. Use TSP to clean and a brillo pad to lightly scuff the plastic, then lightly spray 2 coats as per instructions.

I used it on my air dam restoration and it came out great!

BEFORE

WASHED AND CLEAN (note faded areas)

AFTER PREP and SPRAY with ADHESION PROMOTER & VINYL DYE

One thing that's really important for the inner liner because it's all plastic - clean really well, then spray with an adhesion promoter. Finish with either of the duplicolor products I mentioned. I know you'll be amazed at the results.
