Incredible '68 H/O convertible - Toxic!

"Incredible" - literally - not believeable.

Google translates the ad text per the below. Pretty funny. Murderous. Toxic. Not one mention of it being fake, clone, replica, trubute, or other form of Bullshed.

"Extremely toxic high-performance Convertible Cutlass base with the mighty 455er big block V-8, 7.4 liter, 390 horsepower, high-performance intake manifold, Ram Air system, double-stranded exhaust system, GM Turbo Hydra Matic automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, tinted in green tinted glass , original radio (modern radio with remote control in the glove compartment is hidden), metallic paint finish in Peruvian Silver with black Hurst stripes and black trunk lid, white pinstripes, Hurst trunk emblem, Hurst lettering on the doors as in the promotional campaigns of 1968 (can be removed without leaving any residue) highly polished American Racing Torque Thrust alloy wheels 8x17 front and rear 8,5x17, wide tires 245 / 45R17 front and 255/50/17 rear, new black hydraulically-actuated folding roof, glass rear window, with many more features.

In 1968, General Motors was allowed due to the capacity limitation no larger motor vehicles in the A-body platform install than 400 cubic inches. However, this was not enough the power-hungry "Shifter mogul" George Hurst. He had a short hand of the mighty 455er "torque miracle" of the heavy Toronado Oldsmobile 442 in his signature. The result was so extreme that Hurst's right-hand man Jack "Doc" Watson had the idea to build a small special series. He managed to convince those responsible at GM of his project, however, expressly subject to the condition that the work had officially nothing to do with the murderous creations.

Hurst commissioned Demmer Industries with the conversion of 500 original brand new Oldsmobile Cutlass cars. In addition to the extreme performance increase, which one was the use of disc brakes bill, of course you built a Hurst shifter and a reinforced landing gear. Soon the planned quantity of 500 pieces proved to be insufficient. In a short time more than 2,000 orders were received that had to be rejected, however. Only 15 more Hurst / Olds were sold, four additional units were built more for their own use of Hurst and Doc Watson and the son of John Demmer.

The incredible power of the Hurst / Olds was placed in numerous tests to the test. So undercut a test on a TV show even the factory specification of the acceleration value of 5.4 seconds to 100 km / h around a tenth of a second to 5.3 seconds! Not to mention, it was the year 1968, and contemporary tire material used ....!

So it is not surprising that Hurst ran for promotional purposes on all major racetracks in the United States in the opening act this PS monsters. Allen Race fans have not forgotten the use of silver (single) Hurst / Olds convertible with black stripes and the Hurst emblems a platform was mounted on the doors on its trunk, carrying a huge Hurst shifter. On this platform stood the legendary "excellent" built in the truest sense "Miss Hurst Golden Shifter" Linda Vaughn and waved to the crowd as the car drove along the track. As soon as she bent down and gave an insight into your sumptuous decollete, surged thunderous applause from the audience bleachers on! Linda is the way, but you already approaching the seventy years, still on the track and Car Shows at home and was even elected to the "Drag Racing Hall Of Fame" recently!
