how to determine a value of some parts

i have a NOS decal set for a car that is almost certainly the only or near only one to exist. i have a guy wanting them but don't know how to price them. he said himself that it is likely to be the only set. i have no idea how to determine a price. i got them in the early 90s for $375 if i remember right. the other problem is that there could not be more than 100 of the cars left that would use them. if i name the car could it come up in a google search? i don't want the guy to see this.

If you paid $375 I wouldn't let them go for less than $500 unless you just want to get your money back. It is hard to guess a price on rare things. If it is rare and everone wants it than they get real expensive. If it is rare and nobody wants it then you might be hard pressed to get $100. Price it at a price you can live with, then add $100 bucks and when comes back with a lower price you can negotiate.

Getting around the google search maybe talk with people via PM

Most of all you have me wondering what they look like Can you post pictures before selling them?

I had a partial set of NOS 1977 Indy Pace Car decals a while back. One of the comments I got was that their age may have caused them to deteriorate and they may not be good anymore. I put them on ebay and believe I got around $100 for them. John

I believe I know what you're referring to, but I won't spill the beans. I'd get them copied myself before selling them.
