Ok my 73 olds bucket and back sets is really bad shape. The springs are rusted beyond repaire and I'm wondering if I can use seats from a 1972 or maybe 1974 1975 olds. Or does my car have to use seats from a 73 car only.

72 are different
You can use 73, 74 75, not sure about 76 or 77 but should also be the same.
The difference in each year and model is the pattern, but the spring frame is the same.

Why not rebuild the spring assemblies?

I've rebuild some pretty nasty seat spring sets before... Just need 9ga spring wire for the edgewire- then 9-11ga medium loop zig zag for the seat surfaces.

Do you have them stripped down? can you provide a pic of the damage?

Thanks for the replys. I will post a pic of the back seat tomorrow . The part you sit on was easy to take out. 2 bolts holding them on but the back part of the back seat I'm still trying to figure out.

I have a spare rear seat bottom spring/frame from a 73
The back part, you need to remove the seat belt retractors on either side, pull the seat up, out she comes.
The back part on the top hangs on 3 hooks that holds it snug to the car body, simialar to the 68-72 seat bottom.
