I'd love to read that.

Out of curiosity, what's an issue of that magazine cost nowadays? I'm guessing the cover price is, what, $8.00 by now? $10? I subscribed for a while years ago, but as much as I like the magazine, I couldn't bring myself to pay what they were asking for a subscription.

Cover price is 9.95! Here in Austin, Texas you also add 8 per cent sales tax.

Subscription rates are 39.95 for 1 year 6 issues or 69.95 for 2 years 12 issues.

It's all coming back to me now. I'd forgotten that it's only every other month. $10 per issue, huh? That's a more-than-a-paperback-book price for a magazine.

With tax, you're paying $10.75 an issue if bought from the news stand.

$40 per 6 issues is an only slightly-more-palatable $6.67 per issue. The two-year rate brings it down to $5.83 each. That get's it a little better.

My local barbershop sometimes has an issue sitting in the pile of waiting-area magazines, and I catch up there.

Classic Automobile is a fantastic magazine, that you never throw away. The 1975 Miller-Meteor Criterion ambulance that is featured in that issue belongs to a friend of mine. It took about 6 months from the time that they first photographed the car and got the technical information about the car, before the article was published. The only thing that they got wrong, and we are both still wondering how, was the information as to where to get additional information about Miller Meteor cars. They were supposed to use www.professionalcarsociety.org , but the writer lost his notes.
