70 442 Convertible in the works
At this time this thread will not make much sense but I hope that it will in the future. There is a 70 442 convertible that has been rumored to exist since the early 90s that sits in a dry barn about an hour from me. I have just located this car and although I did not see it with my own eyes yet I am in contact with the owner now and can confirm the story is true. The reason I bring this up is because I will document how long it takes and the road it takes me on to attempt to acquire this car. I think this is going to be a long road but I do believe I will end up with it at some point in the future.
The longest I have followed a car and ended up owning it was 7 years and that one is in the thread I linked below. I would not be surprised if this one beats that record. May have a follow up next summer but not likely before. Let the fun begin.

There are many approaches to this stuff. I find this approach works great if it is a parts car that they plan to "some day" restore and have an attachment to. If someone has no attachment to a car, many times it don't work so well.

I know very little that I know for sure is true. The rumors that floated since the early 90s is that it is a mint car in dry storage. I know a car that sit this long can not be mint. The owner did tell me it is a nice car and that is the only comment he made about condition. From piecing together information, I do not believe it has been started since the 80s or 90s.

Here is a W30 Convertible that was parked in 1976. The trees which had grown to block the garage door had to be cut down to get the car out. Replacing the garage / barn doors is what caught a local Police Officers attention.
