68 442 Convertible-Exhaust Opinion Question
Anyone out there with a convertible that can help me decide on what to use as exhaust system for my car?
I've got a 455 and want to change from the "Factory" style exhaust to a better flowing performance exhaust. Maybe a Flowmaster or Magnaflow system.
Can anyone say from experience that one is better than the other? I really have 0 experience with this.
Flowmaster 40 Series - deep, aggressive tone (Too Loud and Aggressive for a convert?)
Flowmaster 70 Series - quiet and subtle (Just like what I have "Factory?)
I want a nice performance system with all the benefits of the Open design, without having trouble carrying a conversation inside the car with the top down. Your opinions are greatly appreciated. Eric

Unless you want the obnoxiously loud Flowmasters, go with Walker Dynomax tubro mufflers. Demonstrated time and again in magazine tests to outflow the Flowmasters and a much more agreeable tone (at least to my now-50-year-old ears). I'd get a mandrel bent 2 1/2" system.
