Turning key off does not turn the engine off?
Need your help please, I have a 71 Olds Delta 88 with a 350.
I installed a new starter today and now the engine will not turn off?
I pulled the coil wire to kill the engine.
Even with the key in the off position, the engine lights are on in the car?
I appreciate your help.

^^THIS. There's a short to power in the starter wires somewhere. Specifically, the wire going to the R terminal is getting power with the key off. Most likely it's touching the battery terminal. Less likely but not impossible is a defect in the new starter solenoid.
