Tachometer finish
hi,
just found a console mounted tach for my 68 cutty convert. the finish looks like it has been brushed and has some pitting. does anyone know what type of finish this is so that i can get it redone. the end of the tach housing cone is chrome but the rest of it is a dull brushed finish.
thanks
any help appreciated

Hi Mike
In 1968 The tac was in the dash as part of the tic toc tac option. The console mounted tac was used from 1964-66 in Cutlass/442 and Starfire's, I'm not sure what other models may have had them. The A body tac was all brushed aluminum looking, the full sized had a different case. It's been a while since I've seen a full sized one but I believe they had the brushed finish with a plastic piece on the end. I'm sure you could use this tac in your car, but Olds nuts would recognize it as being from an earlier year. John
