New Tach in Clock Delete
I have missed having a tach in my 71 daily driver since I got it about a year ago. I finally put one in it today. I was not looking for it to match the original gauges as I am on a very limited budget. Close was good enough for me. Got a 20% off coupon to Advance Auto and bought a Sun and mounted in my clock delete panel in my cluster. I actually had a Greenlee punch that was almost big enough to punch the hole for the gauge, the rest was easily carved out as the clock delete is soft plastic. Mounted the tach in the old panel and put the old glass back on the front of it. I left the Sun Chrome Bezel off. I think it looks decent - was about a 1.5 hour job -and less than $40 - I love how easily you can get to the gauges in a Cutlass! Here's a few pictures of the final product...

Was easy to wire. Red to hot when on, black to ground, white to dimmer circuit and green to my hei's tach output. I didn't have to mess with the original harness at all. Seems like it works well - it is responsive with throttle and smooth operating.
