Concealed wiper issue !!!!!!
Hi all, hopefully someone has an answer. I have a 72 Cutlass Supreme convertible with concealed wipers. I had to replace my wiper motor with a rebuilt unit and when the wipers go into the park position they don't shut off, instead they oscolate up and down in an inch pattern. I have continuity and fuse is not blowing so it is grounding properly. I understand that there are 2 switches one for non concealed and one for concealed, I haven't checked the part number on the switch yet but do know the switch number I need ends in 101. Has anyone had this issue? Could it be switch which is creating this issue? Any help would be appreciated, My auto electrician wants $350.00 to solve the issue, but sure would like to use the money to finish my suspension.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Moved into electrical section for better visibility; you can now post in all sections.
I do think the 350 is much better spent on suspension.
I think this thread

and the attached troubleshooting guide will help you.
Do make sure the main connector was installed correctly on the motor (lt blue wire towards the top).
Hopefully the parts store sold you a working, correct unit.
Did you replace the dash switch? If it is original, it will be for concealed wipers, as all 72 Cutlass verts had them. I think the switches for concealed / non are different...
It is ironic that so many wiper issues have recently come up during the driest part of the year...

Switch differences?
Ragtop PM sent;
I have both types of switches and the only external difference I can see is the concealed switches have 101 actually stamped into the metal cover of the switch itself. The non-concealed switch has 102 printed on the same metal cover. Don't know if this helps at all.
