Computer controlled distributers

Are some of the later year Olds engines equipped with a computer controlled distributer. These are commonly refered to the the small cap HEI. If this exists, would it work on the older engines like the 400, 425 or the 455? I am looking at a computerized throttle body injection system that can control the ignition system without have to fork out alot of green for a MSD system. Thanks, Dean

I have a HEI distributor from a 350 and that will not work with the original style OB4 intake I have (square port intake). I guess what I need is a 88 thru 90 307 style which should be the small cap HEI that is computer controlled with a separate coil (not in the cap). Dean

Olds never used the small cap computer-controlled distributors. The distributor for the CCC system (1981-90 307 motors) is the same size and uses the same cap as all other Olds HEI units. The only external difference is that there is no vacuum advance can since the computer controls the advance curve.
