Will 63 88/98 Fenders fit a 64 J88?
A local guy has 2 sets of front Fenders for sale. One set is from a 63 Super 88 and the other set are from a 63 98. Will these bolt up to my 64 Jetstar 88?

In the Olds parts book the 63 and 64 carry different parts numbers . So there had to be some difference.
The fender extensions (end caps) are obviously different , but the fenders themselves look the same in pictures I have seen. I don't know about how they mount up to the inner fender though.
They look close enough that it may be worth putting them side by side and comparing and measuring them carefully. You may find that the 63 fenders can be used with minor modification. Or not.
If you do this , let us know how it turns out.
Just took a look at the parts book again , and I noticed that the gasket between the fender and the fender extension is different for 63 and 64. That's probably where the difference is .

They fit, with a little adjustment. I added 64 98 fenders to a 63 98 and the only change required was the nose cap. So going the other way using 63s for a 64 should work, the bracket at the cowl might need to be altered if I remember correctly I had to shim up the 64s to fit on the 63.

They should bolt up although the contours at the front corners are a little different. The '63s overhang the headlights slightly, giving it a little more formal look while the '64s are slightly swept back, giving a somewhat more aerodynamic appearance. A lot of the sheetmetal is interchangeable. My '64 had a '63 trunk lid on it when we first got it.
