73 delta 88 AC problem

I just got a 1973 Delta 88 convertible with a 455. I love this car and it rides and looks great. Only problem is I live in South Florida and sometimes just to hot to put top down and bake in the sun. Everything is working on AC but still no cold air. The guy said something about needing a bypass valve for the unit that sits on the firewall. Thing is nobody has this and only way around this is to find a bypass for this valve. Has anybody ever heard of this. The car is all original and only shows 27,000 miles on dash. From the way it looks I kind of believe it. I dont want to hack this car up so just seeing what options I have. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I 73 that car has a expansion valve & dryer .possibly a POA or STV valve system.Inside the dryer is a decosanet bag ,needs replaced, along with expansion valve & flush the system .You need to find a AC tech as old as me is your best bet .DO not let someone sell you the entire retrofit system. ozoneblue
