65 Jetstar 88 with 4-speed manual trans....I'm Converting to power brakes

I want to put power brakes on my 65 Jetstar 88 but I have run into a problem. I got the booster and master cylinder out of a donor car but the problem is my clutch rod that goes from the clutch pedal through the firewall to the Z-bar hits the booster. I don't see any way that a power booster will clear this rod. Does anyone know if 4-speed cars had a different booster than automatic cars? Were power brakes available with 4-speeds? any help appreciated!

Yes it is. It has a 330 4 bbl, Muncie 4-speed trans, power steering but manual brakes. I want power brakes but the booster I got wont clear the clutch rod. Any ideas?

Pictures would be great! I took the booster out of a 65 Jetstar 88 4-door with a 330, 2-speed automatic, and a 2 bbl carb. The booster looks the same as my Jetstar I and my other Jetstar 88 coupe, but both of those cars are automatics.

I am guessing that either they run a different booster with 4-speeds or a different clutch rod with power brakes. I really appreciate your help!

Ok, I couldn't take the suspense, so I went and looked/took a few pictures. Basically there is a spacer bracket. Pictures to follow...

Thanks for the pics! Wow! that is completely different than my automatic cars! The boosters for automatics mount flush to the firewall! I bet I won't have any luck finding a manual trans brake booster either! Looks like I am keeping manual brakes!

I really appreciate the help!

If you don't care about originality, you can probably adapt the bolt-on brackets from a later power booster. Alternately, consider a hydroboost.

Two other ideas would be to hit a junkyard to see what else might work. Or look at an aftermarket 7" or 8" unit.
