BUY or NOT BUY-Cutlass w/455

I have chance to buy a 84 cutlass with T Tops, originally was a diesel. It has 1970 455 bored 30 over with E heads with big valves ported and polished, comp cam, lifters, and roller rockers, performer intake with 750 edelbrock carb, underdrive pulleys, mini starter, and dual electric fan. It also comes with a Jasper built 400 turbo trans with a 2500 stall and B&M shifter. It also has a posi 3.23 in the rear end. The engine has approximatley 2000 miles on it. THe car is rust free and not bad at all. Is this car worth $3500? I am thinking about buying the car and taking the motor and trans out and putting it into my 86 salon and then selling the 84 after I complete the swap.

If it's running and in good shape that's not a bad deal at all.

But you basically have to realize you could be buying someone else's headache.

-compression check
-leak down(if you can)
-test drive
-start it cold
-start it hot

if there's any misses... you're out of there!
(personally...I hate buying other peoples hot rods)

I would jump on that like a rat on a Cheeto. Seems like a good price to me. I would keep the 84 too. T-tops are COOL!
