Who would be interested in a cowl hood for 68'

there is a possibilty to have a custom hood made but it would require about 15 preorders and a few months of designing.

i know there are no aftermarket cowl hoods for a 68 and personally i want one for my build.

is there any other interest in this or is the oldsmobile crowd pretty conservative regarding originality ?

On a 1968? Sorry, but that will be aesthetically "challenged". Again, the 70-72 scoops are designed to align with the grilles.

well fellas i was originally thinking of having some cowl hoods fabbed up if there was enough demand but i discovered this can be had by going through....

http://www.glasstek.com/

or

http://www.vfnfiberglass.com/site.htm

It seems that purchasing one of their bolt on fiberglass hoods and having them mold one of their scoops to it, is the most cost effective way of getting a custom hood for these 68's.

VFN quoted me an additional $250 to add a cowl scoop to their '66 Cutlass hood.....they have a '65 & '67 cowl hood, but only a flat '66 hood.

If you have problems with people calling your Cutlass a Chevelle just wait until you put a cowl hood on it.

If done right I think a cowl hood would look good on a 68'

I mean if they took the simple design of the S hood and made it just a tad higher and functional that would be pretty sweet.

oem look would be nice, w/o the Camaro parts. A sixties vibe scoop would probably sell these days with the traditional crowd being strong right now.
I love the 68 body lines and have to admit a Camaro cowl would probably look good just so over done.

68CutlassDriver-- did you go ahead with a cowl hood on your '68? I would like to see a pic if you did. Done right, I think it would be awesome.

I would have to agree with 1968 Cutlassfallbrook, I have a 1968 Cutlass S and I would love to see the rise on the hood a little higher not to high maybe about 1/2 to an inch more. I speak for myself but when I get asked if my car is a Chevelle? I get P*ssed but I just tell myself they need to be educated. !!! Hell No Its a Olds !!!
