Names Mike, I bought my first cutlass 10 years ago (72 cutlass), I finally got my second cutlass (69 cutlass), always wanted a 68 or 69 cutlass, I ended up getting both, my 69 has a 68 front clip, I have really enjoyed reading all the forums, lots of insight and advice, great sight,

dispute with my dad
My dad is a classic camero guy, he told me the 69 cutlass was too heavy to be a true muscle car, I was wondering if anyone knew how much a 69 cutlass 2 door with a 350 weighs in comparison with a 69 two door camero with a 350. I would take a cutlass over a camero any day, but he insist they are too heavy, looking at the two cars side by side I dont see how it could really weigh that much more.

just read the forum rules
It says I have 2 days and 5 post before I can post on other threads, I guess the two day limit cant be changed but I will at least get 5 post done in one day. I am totally not a spammer, I hate spammers, I think I have won the uk lottery, the pepsi lottery, the coke lottery, the african lottery, the fed is sending me money, i have heirs dying all over the place leaving me fortunes. I recieve at least 10 spams scam emails like this everyday, I just want to ask questions and answer questions. 47 hours to go....

What does your dad think about chevelles? Camaros weren't initially introduced as muscle cars...they were compacts meant to be an answer to fords mustang. Later having success as trans am racers.(road racing). Only later did GM decide to put a big block in them. Remember, in '68 the H/O was the first intermediate with displacement more than 400 ci. Sounds pretty muscular to me!

He would take a chevelle over an olds any day but is trully a camero fan, his old 69 SS is according to him the end all of cars. He put a 396 in it and it is a nice car I just dont like cameros body style that much. He says it all comes down to the weight

Hate to burst you dad's bubble but there are more the a few quick Olds out there that have shown lots of camero's the rear ends. Even my old 57 with the built 455 has supprised a few. Torque monster and proud of it

My car is a 69 cutlass with a 68 front clip, havent seen one like it yet, I like the mix of the two cars, the hood, grill and bumper of the 68 are pretty unique and the curves of the 69 bring it together. When I first looked at the car I though it was some kinda shady vin swap but after looking at it from behind it had the horizontal tail lights of the 69. Dont know who changed the front or why or what but I am happy with my one of a kind car.

''68 and '69 Cutlass sheet metal is almost identical and interchangeable, except around the tail lights..when you buy an aftermarket quarter panel it has to be modified for '68...the rad cradles are completely different and if you want to change the front to '69 use the whole clip...

I may always wonder why someone went through the trouble of swaping out the front end of the car, I check the car out and I could not find any record of a wreck, it is a mystery to me,
