'68 vs. '69 instrument panel

Does anyone know if the '68 and '69 plastic instrument panel is the same. Like most, mine was cut around the radio when the previous owner put in a cassette player. Anyone got one for sale?

The plastic parts are different between 68 and 69. 68 has the ignition switch in the dash (and thus there is a hole for it), 69 has it on the steering column.

Wait, I just re-read your question. The radio plate is a bolt-in part. If the non-stock cutout is confined to the radio plate, you can just swap that piece, not the whole dash. Note that the radio plate is actually die cast metal in those years, and 68/69 are the same.

Joe,
Actually, you had it right the first time. I was referring to the big plastic piece that is attached to the dash. I believe it encompasses the radio and switches below the gauges. Sounds like its a one year only piece. I'll keep looking for one. Thanks for the reply.

I know what you were referring to, Mike, but in the 68/69 cars the radio mounts above the ash tray. The plate that holds the radio is a separate bolt-on part that can be replaced without replacing the entire plastic lower portion. Now, if the previous owner hacked the plastic portion, like cut out the ash tray to mount a large aftermarket radio or something, then you do need the whole plastic part. If the damage is just on the OEM radio mounting plate, however, then all you need is that small piece, which is common to both years.
