68 ramrod

All 1972 and earlier W-cars were built in Lansing, as noted. If these cars were originally sold in Canada, they will still have the Canadian documentation.

If the question is were Ramrods sold new in the Canadian market, equipped with uniquely optioned parts like Chevy rear ends, the answer is no, nothing substantial. (other than northern climate considerations same as cars sold in the northern U.S.) As Joe indicates all W cars sold new in Canada, can be verified by G.M. of Canada. Canadian cars will have option code Z49 Mandatory Canadian base equipment modifications. (Some different labels, stickers, owners manuals, etc) My 70 W31 and W30 came with option V48 antifreeze and W84 additional fuel for delivery.

69s built in Lansing got Type O axles no matter where they were sold. 69s BUILT in Canada got the Chevy 12 bolt. Either your axle isn't original to the car or it's not a Chevy 12 bolt. Is the cover smooth or does it have an inverted "V" stamped in it?
