1970 CS - Rocket 350 or 455? 🤔

I have to go through everything after delivered but was fortunate to get the photo album with purchase.

I know that the rocket 350 was always gold in color and rocket 455 blue… It looks like these are original pics of some portions of the intake and alternator mounting bracket (valve covers not original and it did have top end work at some point I was told)… but can anyone tell if it’s indeed a 455 or 350 by looks?

Also to note, I noticed the car had factory anti-sway bar and I think I read years ago it’s was only factory with the bigger engines?

Thoughts?

Based on the clearance between the driver side valve cover and brake booster I say 350. My 455 with similar valve covers has closer to one inch clearance, your picture shows like 3 inches or more.

Rear sway bar was part of the optonal suspension package and is not engine specific. Dunno where you heard this (or the things you mentioned in other posts) but you gotta quit listening to the person who told you those things.

The intake manifold is narrow, which is another tell for a 350.

It has an aftermarket carburetor and is missing the A/C compressor and brackets.

It was those online experts from 10years ago. Glad to have found a knowledgeable group now!

Upload an image of the block casting number between the water pump and the intake manifold. That will tell us what you have without the guessing. (395558 is a 350)

I think it's a 350. Too much clearance to the evaporation box, the intake looks too narrow and has more rise than my 455.

my 455 in a 71 cs
