trim glue?

trim glue?
What kind of glue is used for the metal decorative trim strips that are on the sides of a Delta 88 (1984)? On the hood it looks like that trim is held on with some kind of snap that goes through the metal. Would Marine Tex work on the prepared smooth surface? That seems to be pretty strong stuff. The new strip I made is aluminum.
Thanks

I don't know if the specific trim you are referring to uses glue or some other kind of snap or screw or clip but I can comment that I use a product from 3M that is specifically made for applying trim to cars. As with any adhesive, following directions and cleaning the surfaces makes it work the best.

Can't use double sided tape. It would be too thick. I think the 3-M idea would be best. I have something I used yesterday for the first time on my fish finder's transducer called Marine-Tex. That stuff is strong as steel! Maybe I'll try that. The metal trim I was talking about is smack down the middle of the car on each side. It is aluminum with a black rubber strip down the middle.
Thanks guys
