Proper sequence to reinstall grills/headlamps/etc 72 442?

Right now the fenders are on with a bare radiator support. What sequence should I reinstall the headlamp buckets, headlamp surrounds, grills, latch support, etc.

Any pitfalls I should look out for? The grill mounting into the stoneguard looks like it could be tricky.

Any and all comments/stories/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'd hate to break something or have to assemble/disassemble/reassemble and waste time as it is at a premium right now.

Thanks in advance....

If you have the assy manual, one might be able to just follow the steps (pages) backwards. I looked at this a few months ago and it APPEARS like it will work........

I have that book but I'd like some "real life" experience. I'd hate to break one of those damn plastic tabs off the grills or housings!

I just replaced one of my grilles...be very careful snapping your grilles into the stone guard, hand tighten all bolts, checking alignment as you go, if everything lines up,GENTLY tighten all fasteners. Don't force anything to fit, plastic is fragile. The bigger challenge is fitting the bumper.

I would remove my bumper, you're saving yourself putting cracks in your stone shield.

All I can say is WOW! That thing looks great!
I will be following in your footsteps come spring when i pull all that front stuff off, restore it, and reassemble.
I am wondering if I can even remove the radiator support without pulling the fenders...

Yes - and you can leave the hood on the car as well.

Sorry about the hijack but I saw Rob's question. Just try some test fitting to see which part goes on first. You already know you need to assemble the grilles and stone shield into one piece. With the plastic headlight housings it just depends on how much wiggle room or play you have. My bet is you can mount the grille/stone shield piece first (loosely as far as where it attaches to the nose piece (ie metal part that holds your hood lock relay, etc) and then try one headlight housing.

The holes in the center support are slotted, so I start there, and center the assembly to the hood...

I'm saving the hood for last as I'm not sure what I'll run into! I haven't started the engine yet.
