MCACN VIII is now history, hope you all had a good time. Thanks to the team at MASCAR for a wonderful display. All of their cars achieved Gold Awards.

The above is an article featuring the black W-30 and discussing the restoration effort.
Before anyone gets wound up, a perfect score does not represent a perfect car. There are 1,000s of components, materials and processes which are used to make up a complete car, so 1,000 points would not be enough to judge every single component, nut, bolt, washer, fastener, the fit and finish and workmanship of each part and or process of a complete vehicle, etc.
What the 1,000 points does designate is a car that based on the judging criteria checked off all of the boxes as positive.
This W-30 turned out amazing. It has a lazer straight body and glass like Black Paint. The stripes were painted over the base color and not cleared over, similar to a factory application but sans the defects.
If your in Arizona for auction week, stop by Russo and Steele and say hello.

I know this is an old thread. But figured I post the sale from a couple of years ago after it was restored by MASCAR.

Glad to see for huge money it finally got a trunk stripe. I don't get the need for everyone to add the rear spoiler. Great colors for a 442. Not trying to talk smack but for that much cash shouldn't it have correct fenders? Any before restoration pictures? One more question. Am I missing documentation on a factory W-27 rear?
Beautiful car for sure. 175-200k? Wow

Yes! same bones as the Mascar penguin. Black on white, 4 speed, no options. No W27 but I could ad that, same as above. All the W30 parts are correct and the interior is untouched. Basically a rust free west coast car. Black on white is very rare for 70. Will be a great project someday...for someone..... we'll see.

I got hooked on the Black / White color scheme back in College. One of the local Tavern owners had a W-30 with this combo and I'd see it around town all of the time. I'm told he still has it.
We did aquire another Black / White 4 speed all numbers match with docs, but it is a bench seat car.
