I think that's reasonable. I don't doubt that he has $20K into the car. I've probably got over $10K into my 62 wagon and it looks like crap. SoCal sheet metal, likely in very nice shape.

I'd definitely ask for more information on the engine rebuild. What pistons and camshaft were used is a lot more pertinent than stainless valves.
