Whoo, that's some serious coin for something that needs nearly everything. And unless you've already sourced the stuff, it's going to be hard as heck to find. "A lot of new parts already installed" seems odd. In the pics, I haven't seen any new parts. I paid less than half of that for mine when I bought it off of ebay. It was fairly rust free, but dayum it still cost a bunch of money I'd never recover if I sold it. Being here in SC it probably doesn't have much more than surface rust as long as it hasn't spent time at the beach towns. If the steering wheel is original, it's a post-January 1, 1984 car.

Good luck with that, whoever buys it.

The used car market is totally bonkers. You get these people who have junked out cars that want big bucks. That car is maybe worth $3k tops in a normal market.

The auto parts industry is booming as most people are opting to repair their older cars vs buying the short supply of new cars which are pushing $40k average new car purchase price.

Yall are crazy 7k may be high, but i would buy it all day at 3k.

course location makes a difference.

on my local cl there was a similar HO, rusted out, missing parts, tree fell on it etc….$4500 iirc….suddenly the 7k ask doesnt seem so bad.

also on cl a similar year g body so rusted that the steering box broke off the frame $2500 firm

At 7k, it'll leave you with $18K to sink into it. Figure $1K thereabouts for an NOS bullnose emblem, you're down to $17K left to strip it, paint it, and do all the interior work. Not to mention rebuilding the engine/transmission and maybe the rear end, depending on what it needs. Good luck finding a nice set of wheels for it. Then you have to look at potential rust repair to which who knows what awaits. Typical floor pans and rear frame rails are hot spots on these cars without T-tops. T-top rustout is a major problem for those cars. Thank goodness this one has no T-tops or there'd be huge question marks waiting. Even without rust repairs, got a feeling you'll be in for at least $25K real fast before you know it. We don't even know what's under the hood waiting... So unless you're building it for yourself, I'd be a hard pass on this.

I never said it made economic sense. Without seeing the car, hearing it run and driving it I wouldn't begin to pay 7k for it. These are very desirable cars. I was looking for one until my 75 Hurst came along. I prefer the black 83's over the 84"s.

That would not be a bad plan. Two folks in out club have 83's. The are both very nice cars. One has a 350 in it and the other has a 403. Big improvement.

If you type in hurst olds in the search bar you will find the vinyl, part # GOH-AIN-ACM-VSC! With all of the shipping issues going on i did notice they are not listing them like they have in the past I assume this is do to the supply chain? I would call them that is usually what I do when I am looking for a specific product, you can try stock interiors.com, acme interiors, PUI interiors, you can check the parts place .com they are most definitely out there you just maybe are going to have to do some leg work to find them. What year are you looking for? that interior was common in the Hurst Olds so that is what I search for when looking is Hurst Olds interior.

A few years ago, the Customer Service at G Body Parts was horrible.

What I've heard, it hasn't changed much. One thing that hasn't changed, they'll be glad to take your money right away. After that, getting any issues fixed is like standing in line during peak hours at the DMV.

It has already been said but to bring this car back you would be upside down financially so fast. Pay three grand and make a nice driver.
