Not a club Coupe. I talked to seller. Holes have been filled in. Car is currently non running with engine sitting on mounts nothing is attached to it yet. Basically a bare engine bay. I'd say they are about 1/2 way into the project phase of building the car. Seem like nice folks. One of those cars that has a lot of time and money in it, but still has a way to go to get running and driving. Interior is still stock and aged...not too bad, but would need to be redone to match work that has been done so far.

So can anyone with Fremont 442 experience break this down for me?
I’ve never had any experience with a CA car.
I’m going to look at it tomorrow and would like to know if there’s anyway to verify it’s authenticity as a 442.
Stamping on frame?
Engine verification?
IS the ONLY way to verify through paperwork?
The couple is from CA and it looks like a solid car. I think the price is a bit high, but want to see it for myself.
Thanks,
-peter

the trim tag won't tell you anything about it being a 442.the one piece 442 frame (no seam in front of rear wheel) and extra holes where upper rear control arms attach.there is a number stamped(cutlass and 442 are different #) in the driver's rail behind where the tail pipe hanger mounts.if originally a 4 spd car extra gusseting on back side of front crossmember
