1971 SX Convertible

1971 SX Convertible
For your consideration is my Oldsmobile Club of America Grand National Meet 1st place award winning SX. This car was featured on the cutlassregistry.com homepage for 4 years. For anyone unaware of the SX model, these cars are very, very rare examples of GM muscle. The production numbers for this two-year only (1970 & 1971) model are less than half of the highly collectable 442 models. The SX is every bit a 442 except with a generic VIN # so the insurance companies wouldn't know! And the '71 SX convertibles are the rarest with only 357 1971 SX convertibles produced. Who knows how many are left, especially in this condition? So, info. on my cameo white with pearl interior & black soft top with glass back window SX as follows: Purchased: on Aug. 2, 2007 in Coral Springs, FL. . ..Arrived in Post Falls, Idaho Aug. 27, 2007. Factory options include: Strato Bucket Seats, Air Conditioning, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Top, Tilt Sports Steering Wheel, Deluxe Seat Belts, Hurst Dual Gate Shifter (His & Hers), Rallye Pac with Tic-Toc Tach, Tinted Glass, AM / FM Radio with working 8 track Tape Player and the rare cassette tape adapter, Conveniece Light Group including map light rear view mirror, Remote Driver’s Mirror, Dual Sport Mirrors and SSI and SSIII Wheels, each mounted on a set of tires. Purchased with - 85,131 miles with 94,300 miles as of today. Build Date/Code - 12/70 Documentation includes partial owner history, 8-9 month Frame off Restoration with OEM parts - I have the receipts totaling at least $35,898.75 (1994 dollars!) and resto pictures. 1st Place July 1995 Oldsmobile Club of America Grand National Meet, Greensboro, N.C., with 935/1000 pts. & I have the score sheet used. No, I have not explored the registration status of my SX on SX455.com. I purchased this SX from Eric and Lisa Peraza, who lived in Florida at the time. Eric and Lisa had information and pictures posted on SX455.com prior to, during and after my purchasing this SX. Eric had informed me of a number of conversations he had with Bob Peters specifically regarding this SX.

The SX emblem in the wrong position would be a deal breaker for me. Although redrilling, filling and repainting the fender would be easier with a white car for painting than perhaps alot of other colors.
I like the 71 442 dual snorkel air cleaner, I did the same thing to my SX. It made a big difference in breathing, especially winding out in first to second.
Lovely example and a rare musclecar.
