1969 Cutlass S Convertible For Sale
Thought I would post here first since this forum has been so helpful to me. I've had my fun for the past 6 years and now ready to move on, maybe to something from the early 50's. The car is in very good driver condition with some desirable upgrades but is not an all-original show car. Perfect for enjoying on nice weekends. NADA and Hagerty show value around $18000 so starting there and make a reasonable offer. More pictures available and will answer questions as best I know. Car is in Austin and you would have to arrange any transportation.
Good stuff, upgrades and recent work:
Good stuff, upgrades and recent work:
- Numbers matching 350 with Edelbrock Performer intake, 1970 quadrajet converted to electric choke, GM HEI ignition and Hedman headers
- Cylinder heads just rebuilt and compression is ~140 PSI across all cylinders
- Recently rebuilt TH350 transmission with firm but not jarring shifts. Upgrade from the original 2 speed Jetaway
- Quick ratio steering box, new springs and rear sway bar for improved handling
- Front disk brake conversion safety
- 3.42 posi rear end provides quick acceleration but still comfortable at highway speeds
- New carpet and full new Parchment interior from Legendary
- Modern Vintage Air A/C keeps you cool when it's too hot for having the top down
- Rare LY code SSI wheels to fit disk brakes plus a set of Cragar SS wheels for a vintage hot rod look
- Recent repaint shines like new. Originally Sable Brown but changed to red long ago (started out a Nebraska car, so guess the owner was a Cornhusker)
- New gas tank and sending unit
- Have original owners manual, protecto-plate and service manuals
- Includes most of the original parts (intake, valve covers, exhaust manifolds, etc.) if you want to return it to factory condition
- Convertible top is a bit worn but still functional and one hydraulic cylinder is a little weak
- Some body filler in quarters and rockers but solid with no bubbling
- Non-original Custom Autosounds radio has a few quirks, but sounds pretty good with upgraded kick panel and dash speakers

Cutlass
I have also seen the the car and it is very nicely done. I love the look of the Cragers with the fat tires when you swap them on - add some pictures with those, especially from the back.
Sorry to see you sell, but wish you luck and am looking forward to seeing your next classic ride.

Ken, left you a voice mail.
Adam and Ray, thanks for the kind words. I'll add a picture with the Cragars but figured stock wheels would be better for selling. Next up may be something early post-war, slightly modified to be a better driver. A first generation Rocket would be really nice but always liked the huge Buick grills. My wish list is long and varied, but probably not a belly button tri-5 Chevy like everyone else has.
